In 2005, 45 graduating high school students in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, committed to ministry together. With great faith, this group of students served the poor, shared the gospel, and pooled their resources to care for vulnerable children. Moriah Deliverance of Ethiopian Children was birthed out of this grassroots movement.

Moriah began in faith and continues by faith. It was on Mount Moriah that God provided for Abraham and Isaac. Today, Moriah functions on the principle that God provides; and He has. Over the past 15 years, Moriah has impacted thousands of lives in Ethiopia through various ministry efforts. From baptizing hundreds in a Muslim community to providing school supplies to the neighborhood children, Moriah is dedicated to sharing the hope of Jesus Christ. 

Moriah is led today by Wana and his wife, Genet, (both founding Moriah members). Under Wana’s leadership, Moriah now serves vulnerable families in the Burayu community of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and blesses the local community with holiday meals and school supplies.

As God leads, Moriah will follow. And as God leads, God always provides.
